Wow, they missed an opportunity:

To be fair, if we’re over budget, I’d hate to see what the American’s program would cost.

I’m guessing that they also misfired on having these units work with existing facilities, and all military support Tim Horton’s locations will have to have their drivethroughs and lots redesigned.

Well that’s half the issue. Last time I checked, drive thrus are limited to about seven feet high, which is difficult for a 500 foot mech to fit in. I think they’re just planning on having Double Double machines installed in the cockpits.

BattleMech program very overfunded. Costing taxpayers billions per hour. Sad!

YUGE

As long as the syrup tank warmers aren’t too hard to service.

Summoners? How do we have Clan Tech already? I would’ve preferred Cataphracts, myself...

I was kind of expecting a Megas XLR kind of thing only with a Mountie theme and an Acadian as the control center.
![]() 01/23/2017 at 13:22 |

No, we ditched that idea and are going forward with the Spartan II program and power armor.

Of course the Americans go for the plan that involves abducting six year olds and telling their families they died (or did they replace them with clones that then died? I can’t remember), training them hard for years, and then pumping them with enhancement drugs that kill and disable most of them.
And then most of them die/end up in a micro Dyson sphere. Good move, folks.

Loser Canadians wish they had our new ship, The Pillar of Autumn. Its bigly tremendous spaceship. I guarantee it.

But you get the warthog and us saving you from the firing of Halo. Also aliens.

You’ve got me there.

The Pillar of Autumn was an older ship, if I remember correctly. Pretty damn reliable when it came to getting shot due to the honeycomb structure.

They’re only raising a fuss about the sword because of the lead image in a leaked design study about the role of melee weapons in Mech combat

At least we didn’t design a computer to control our nuclear weapons program.
![]() 01/23/2017 at 14:03 |

But doesn’t the US nuclear arsenal still use 8 in floppy disks?
![]() 01/23/2017 at 14:06 |

I don’t see how a 15 story fusion powered robot that can go completely invisible won’t help gather intelligence or take out individual terrorist operatives. Cost and practicality be damned.

This is good Oppo.

But where’s my Gundam??????

Could be worse; the Japanese plan involves implanting a human soul (usually the mother of the pilot) into the mech, then screwing the kid up so badly they’ll only bond with that mech (which is really a cyborg based on the aliens we’re fighting, but whatever...).
